2022 Regular Session ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 169 BY SENATOR WHITE A RESOLUTION To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the passing of Dustin Hamilton and to commend him for his public service. WHEREAS, it is with immense sadness and profound regret that the Louisiana Senate has learned of the tragic and untimely passing of Deputy Sheriff Dustin Hamilton; and WHEREAS, Dustin Hamilton was a native of Baton Rouge and a longtime resident of Central, Louisiana; and WHEREAS, Dustin graduated from Central High School with academic honors while simultaneously working part-time as a swing manager for the McDonald's Corporation; and WHEREAS, after graduating from high school, Dustin attended Southeastern Louisiana University (SLU) in Hammond, Louisiana, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice; and WHEREAS, after graduating from SLU, Dustin attended the Capital Area Regional Training Academy (CARTA) and successfully completed his law enforcement training; and WHEREAS, Dustin was employed by the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office as a deputy sheriff where he worked for two years; and WHEREAS, it was his heart's desire to catch criminals, especially those who were harming elderly people; and WHEREAS, Dustin was killed in a fatal car crash while working a deputy sheriff detail on Friday, September 27, 2013; and WHEREAS, Dustin truly enjoyed being a deputy, he had a passion for law enforcement, and he is deeply missed; and WHEREAS, Dustin Blake Hamilton leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted mother Nanette, his father David Bruce, his older brother David Nicholas, and Hanan Daas Joiner, who was his fiancée at the time of his untimely death; and Page 1 of 2 SR NO. 169 ENROLLED WHEREAS, Dustin is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Hattie and Barney Beebe Sr., his step-grandfather Edgar Domingue, and his paternal grandparents George and Ouida Hamilton. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express heartfelt condolences on the passing of Deputy Sheriff Dustin Blake Hamilton and does hereby commend him for his public service and extend sincerest wishes of comfort to his family and friends who mourn his passing.
