PORTS/HARBORS/TERMINALS: Changes the name of one member on the South
Tangipahoa Parish Port Commission
1 AN ACT
2To amend and reenact R.S. 34:1951(B)(2)(e), relative to the members of the South
3 Tangipahoa Parish Port Commission; to change the name of the Hammond Chamber
4 of Commerce to the Tangipahoa Chamber of Commerce; and to provide for related
5 matters.
6 Notice of intention to introduce this Act has been published
7 as provided by Article III, Section 13 of the Constitution of
8 Louisiana.
9Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
10 Section 1. R.S. 34:1951(B)(2)(e) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as
11follows:

16 (2) Upon the expiration of the term of each member whose term expires as
17 provided in Paragraph (1) of this Subsection or the creation of a vacancy in the seat
18 of any such member, whichever occurs first, the governor shall appoint the successor

1 to such member, subject to Senate confirmation, as follows and in the following
2 order:

Abstract: Changes the name of the member on the South Tangipahoa Parish Port
Commission from the Hammond Chamber of Commerce to the Tangipahoa Chamber
of Commerce.
Present law creates the South Tangipahoa Parish Port Commission.
Present law specifies the commission is composed of seven members.
Present law provides the requirements for the governor to appoint the successor of each
member whose term expires or the creation of a vacancy in the seat of such member, subject
to Senate confirmation.
Present law requires that the governor appoint one member from a list of three nominees
submitted by the Hammond Chamber of Commerce.
Proposed law retains present law and changes the name of the member from the Hammond
Chamber of Commerce to the Tangipahoa Chamber of Commerce.
