Abstract: Provides grandparents with post-adoption visitation rights regardless of the marital status
of the parents of the adopted child.
Present law requires that the parents of the child be married at the time of their death for
grandparents to be entitled to post-adoption visitation rights.
Proposed law removes the requirement that the parents of the child be married at the time of the
death of a parent for grandparents to be entitled to post-adoption visitation rights.
