Abstract: Authorizes the Dept. of Veterans Affairs to adopt administrative rules relative to burial
eligibility at state and national veterans cemeteries.
Present law authorizes the Dept. of Veterans Affairs to construct and operate veterans cemeteries in
La.
Present law provides burial eligibility in La. veterans cemeteries for individuals described in 38
U.S.C. 2402 and Section 1.620 of 38 C.F.R.
Proposed law retains present law and allows the department to adopt administrative rules to expand
burial eligibility to include individuals described in 38 U.S.C. 2408(i)(2).
