ENROLLED 2023 Regular Session HOUSE BILL NO. 332 BY REPRESENTATIVE ROBBY CARTER 1 AN ACT 2 To amend and reenact Sections 1 and 3 of Act No. 190 of the 2022 Regular Session of the 3 Legislature, relative to the transfer of certain state property in Tangipahoa Parish; to 4 authorize the transfer of certain state property in Tangipahoa Parish; to provide for 5 the property description; to provide for terms and conditions; to provide for an 6 effective date; and to provide for related matters. 7 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana: 8 Section 1. Sections 1 and 3 of Act No. 190 of the 2022 Regular Session of the 9 Legislature are hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows: 10 Section 1. The commissioner of administration and the secretary of the 11 Department of Children and Family Services, notwithstanding any other provision 12 of law to the contrary, are hereby authorized and empowered to convey, transfer, 13 assign, lease, or deliver any interest, excluding mineral rights, the state may have in 14 and to all or any portion of the following described property, including any 15 improvements thereon, in Tangipahoa Parish to the Town of Amite City: 16 A certain piece and parcel of ground in the Town of Amite, Parish of 17 Tangipahoa, State of Louisiana, fronting One hundred (100) feet on Oak 18 Street and running back between parallel lines One hundred and fifty (150) 19 feet on Bay Street and being the East One-half of lots 12, 13 and 16 of 20 Square 26 according to plat made by J. H. Alford and being a portion of the 21 same property acquired by vendor from the Heirs of N. N. Saal by act of sale 22 recorded in COB 83 Page 302 of the Conveyance Records of Tangipahoa 23 Parish. 24 That certain parcel of ground described as fronting 50 feet on the North line 25 of Oak Street, by a depth of 150 feet between parallel lines, more fully 26 described as beginning at a point on the North line of Oak Street, 250 East 27 of the Southwest corner of Square 26, Town of Amite, Parish of Tangipahoa, 28 State of Louisiana, which point is also the Southeast corner of the legacy to 29 Mrs. Dorothy Thompson; thence North 150 feet; thence East 50 feet; thence 30 South 150 feet; thence West 50 feet to point of beginning; said Lot bounded 31 North by Schilling, South by Oak Street, East by Tangipahoa Parish Welfare 32 Department and West by Mrs. Dorothy Thompson. 33 * * * Page 1 of 2 CODING: Words in struck through type are deletions from existing law; words underscored are additions. If an agreement authorized by this Act is not entered into by 2 December 31, 2023 2025, the commissioner of administration and the secretary of 3 the Department of Children and Family Services are authorized to proceed with a 4 sale of the property described in this Act in accordance with the procedures set forth 5 in Title 41 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950. 6 * * * 7 Section 2. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not 8 signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature 9 by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If 10 vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become 11 effective on the day following such approval.
