PROPERTY/PUBLIC:  Authorizes the exchange of certain state property in Calcasieu
Parish
1	AN ACT
2To authorize and provide for the transfer of certain state property; to authorize the exchange
3 of certain property in Calcasieu Parish; to provide property descriptions; to provide
4 for the reservation of mineral rights; to provide terms and conditions; to provide for
5 an effective date; and to provide for related matters.
6Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
7 Section 1.  The commissioner of administration and the president of McNeese State
8University, notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, are hereby authorized
9and empowered to convey, transfer, assign, lease, or deliver any interest, excluding mineral
10rights, the state may have in and to all or any portion of the following described property in
11Calcasieu Parish to the City of Lake Charles in exchange for the property described in
12Section 2 of this Act:
13	The Northeast quarter, the East half of the East half of the Northwest quarter,
14	and the North half of the Southwest quarter of Section 22, Township 10
15	South, Range 8 West, Calcasieu Parish
16 Section 2.  In exchange for the property described in Section 1 of this Act, the
17commissioner of administration and the president of McNeese State University are hereby
18authorized and empowered to accept from the City of Lake Charles title to all or any portion
19of the following described property:
20	City of Lake Charles Fire Station, Lots 1, 2 and 3 of Block 1 of Gulfgate
21	Subdivision, less and except Highway Parcel 23-1, City of Lake Charles,
22	Parish of Calcasieu

1 Section 3.  The commissioner of administration and the president of McNeese State
2University are hereby authorized to enter into such agreements, covenants, conditions, and
3stipulations and to execute such documents as may be necessary to properly effectuate any
4conveyance, transfer, assignment, lease, or delivery of title, excluding mineral rights, of the
5property described in Section 1 of this Act, and as more specifically described in any such
6agreements entered into and documents executed by and between the parties, provided that
7the state receives consideration proportionate to the appraised value of any state property
8exchanged.
9 Section 4.  This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not
10signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature
11by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana.  If
12vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become
13effective on the day following such approval.
