SSHB36 4573 4036 HOUSE SUMMARY OF SENATE AMENDMENTS HB 36 2023 Regular Session Travis Johnson DISTRICTS/SPECIAL: Provides for the Delta Agriculture Research and Sustainability District Synopsis of Senate Amendments 1.Requires that the district director hired after July 1, 2023 be a resident of the state and have been domiciled in the district for the preceding two years prior to employment. 2.Makes technical changes. Digest of Bill as Finally Passed by Senate Present law (R.S. 3:341(D)) establishes the boundaries of the Delta Agriculture Research and Sustainability District which are coterminous with East Carroll and Tensas parishes. Proposed law expands the boundaries of the district to include the boundaries of Concordia and Madison parishes. Proposed law requires that the district director hired after July 1, 2023 be a resident of the state and have been domiciled in the district for the preceding two years prior to employment. Proposed law specifies that the board, its members, and its agents are immune from personal liability for good faith acts related to the board's responsibilities. Further specifies that this immunity applies to all costs, damages, and attorney fees arising from claims and suits against them related to matters where the immunity applies.
