STATE SYMBOL: Establishes the official state nut
1 AN ACT
2To enact R.S. 49:170.22, relative to state symbols; to provide that the pecan is the official
3 state nut of Louisiana; and to provide for related matters.
4Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
5 Section 1. R.S. 49:170.22 is hereby enacted to read as follows:
6 ยง170.22. State nut
7 There shall be an official state nut. The official state nut shall be the pecan.
8 Its use on official documents of the state and with the insignia of the state is hereby
9 authorized.
