ENERGY: Provides relative to the Louisiana Renewable Energy Development Act 1 AN ACT 2To amend and reenact R.S. 51:3061(3) and (4), relative to the Louisiana Renewable Energy 3 Development Act; to clarify that energy produced from forest products' 4 manufacturing bioenergy feedstocks and agricultural harvesting may be considered 5 renewable and carbon neutral; and to provide for related matters. 6Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana: 7 Section 1. R.S. 51:3061(3) and (4) are hereby amended and reenacted to read as 8follows: 9 ยง3061. Legislative findings 10 The legislature hereby finds and declares that: 11 * * * 12 (3) Energy produced from forest products' manufacturing bioenergy 13 feedstocks shall may be considered renewable and carbon neutral. When paired with 14 carbon capture technologies, known as bioenergy with carbon capture and storage, 15 it may be considered carbon negative. 16 (4) Energy produced from agricultural harvesting, including bagasse 17 produced from sugarcane processing, shall may be considered renewable and carbon 18 neutral.
