BANKS/BANKING: Provides relative to central bank digital currency
Synopsis of Senate Amendments
1.Clarifies the definition of "central bank digital currency" in proposed law to
include that a central bank digital currency is issued by the U.S. Federal Reserve
System or a U.S. federal agency.
Present law defines "deposit account" and provides that a deposit account does not include
investment property or accounts evidenced by an instrument.
Proposed law retains present law and adds that a deposit account does not include a central
bank digital currency.
Proposed law defines the term "central bank digital currency".
