TELEVISION/CABLE:  Provides relative to franchise fee audits
1	AN ACT
2To amend and reenact R.S. 45:1367(A), relative to franchise fee audits; to provide a limit
3 on which records may be addressed in a review; and to provide for related matters.
4Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
5 Section 1.  R.S. 45:1367(A) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows: 
6 ยง1367.  Franchise fee audits and dispute resolution
7	A.  The local governmental subdivision, upon reasonable written request,
8 may review the business records of a cable service provider or video service provider
9 to the extent necessary to ensure payment of the franchise fee in accordance with
10 R.S. 45:1366.  Any review conducted in accordance with this Section shall not
11 address any period more than three years before the date the review is commenced.

Abstract: Enacts a time limit on records that may be addressed in an audit.
Present law provides that a local governmental subdivision, upon reasonable written request,
may review the business records of a cable service provider or video service provider to the
extent necessary to ensure payment of the franchise fee in accordance with present law.
