HIGHER ED/BD REGENTS:  Extends deadline for annual January meeting of the Board
of Regents
1	AN ACT
2To amend and reenact R.S. 17:3123(E), relative to the Board of Regents; to provide for the
3 timing of certain board meetings; and to provide for related matters.
4Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
5 Section 1.  R.S. 17:3123(E) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:
6 ยง3123.  Domicile; organization and meetings of board; rules

8	E.  The board shall meet on or before the second Monday in January of in
9 January each year, and at other times as fixed by the board, or upon call of the
10 chairman.  The board shall meet at least twice yearly with the State Board of
11 Elementary and Secondary Education in accordance with the provisions of Paragraph
12 D of Section 5 of Article VIII, Section 5(D) of the Louisiana Constitution of 1974

Present law provides requirements for meetings of the Bd. of Regents.
Present law requires the board to meet on or before the second Mon. in Jan. of each year. 
Proposed law instead requires the board to meet in Jan. each year.
