Abstract: Decreases the amount the La. State Racing Commission may collect in fees for historical
horse racing.
Present law allows the La. State Racing Commission (commission) to collect a license fee not to
exceed 4% of the total amount wagered at each offtrack wagering facility on historical horse racing
to cover administrative costs.
Proposed law retains present law but decreases the allowed collection amount from 4% to 2%.
Proposed law requires that the commission distribute 10% of the license fee to the sheriff department
of the parish that is hosting the historical horse race.
