HB 643 Original 2023 Regular Session Horton
Abstract: Requires cytomegalovirus (CMV) testing for newborns.
Proposed law requires every hospital, birthing center, licensed midwife, and certified nurse midwife
to ensure that any delivered newborn is administered point of care testing for CMV.
Proposed law further requires that any positive test report of such point of care testing be provided
to the La. Dept. of Health within five days.
Proposed law shall be known and may be cited as "Journie's Law".
