R.S. 49:316.2 is hereby enacted to read as follows: 7 ยง316.2. Payments for electronic signatures; authorizations; fees 8 A. The state, through any department, agency, board, commission, or other state 9entity hereinafter referred to as "state entity" may charge a fee for use of an electronic 10signature in connection with official documents. The state may accept payment for use of 11an electronic signature by credit cards, debit cards, and any other form of electronic 12payments approved by the treasurer as provided in R.S. 49:316.1. 13 B. The fee charged by the state for the use of an electronic signature pursuant to this 14Section shall be a convenience fee paid directly to the state entity. The amount of the 15convenience fee, after review and recommendation by the treasurer, shall be approved by 16the Senate Committee on Revenue and Fiscal Affairs and the House Committee on Ways 17and Means. In addition, the amount of the convenience fee shall be disclosed to the 18signatory before the transaction is completed, and the signatory shall be given the option of 19proceeding without the electronic signature at that time.
