HOUSE BILL NO. 87
BY REPRESENTATIVE ADAMS
1	AN ACT
2 To enact R.S. 33:4303(C)(3), relative to East Feliciana Parish; to provide relative to the
3 board of commissioners of East Feliciana Gas Utility District No. 1; to provide for
4 an effective date; and to provide for related matters.
5	Notice of intention to introduce this Act has been published
6	as provided by Article III, Section 13 of the Constitution of
7	Louisiana.
8 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
9 Section 1.  R.S. 33:4303(C)(3) is hereby enacted to read as follows:

14	(3)(a)  Notwithstanding Paragraph (1) of this Subsection, the membership of
15 the board of commissioners of East Feliciana Gas Utility District No. 1 shall consist
16 of five members appointed as follows:
17	(i)  The governing authority of East Feliciana Parish shall appoint three
18 members.
19	(ii)  The governing authority of Wilson shall appoint one member.
20	(iii)  The governing authority of Norwood shall appoint one member.
21	(b)  Members of the board of commissioners shall serve initial and
22 subsequent terms as provided by Subsection B of this Section.

1 Section 2.  The terms of members of the board of commissioners of East Feliciana
2 Gas Utility District No. 1 who are serving on the effective date of this Act terminate on that
3 date; however, such members shall continue to serve until at least three members have been
4 appointed in accordance with R.S. 33:4303(C)(3) as enacted by this Act and qualified.
5 Section 3.  This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not
6 signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature
7 by the governor, as provided in Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana.  If
8 vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become
9 effective on the day following such approval.
