COMMENDATIONS: Commends Louisiana State University student Evan Leonhard on
being named a Fulbright Scholar
1 A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
2To commend Louisiana State University student Evan Leonhard on being named a Fulbright
3 Scholar.
4 WHEREAS, the Fulbright Scholars program is the flagship international exchange
5program sponsored by the United States Government and is designed to increase mutual
6understanding between the people of the United States and other countries; and
7 WHEREAS, the Fulbright Scholars program identifies Americans who will spend
8time abroad and contribute to a better understanding of the United States; and
9 WHEREAS, Evan Leonhard is an outstanding student who is a graduate of Jesuit
10High School in New Orleans and current student at Louisiana State University; he has
11distinguished himself academically as a Roger H. Ogden Honors College student majoring
12in both philosophy and English; and
13 WHEREAS, Mr. Leonhard also possesses a particular interest in the study of
14Victorian literature and aesthetics, and he serves as the co-editor of the Delta Journal; and
15 WHEREAS, Evan Leonhard is most deserving of the highest recognition for his
16incredible academic achievements and for being selected to represent the United States
17abroad as a Fulbright Scholar.
18 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
19commend Louisiana State University student Evan Leonhard on being named a Fulbright
20Scholar and does hereby extend sincerest wishes that he continue to prosper as he brings

1great pride to his school and to the state of Louisiana for his commitment to international
2education and understanding.
