HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOL UTION NO. 32

A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
To commend Louisiana State University student Evan Leonhard on being named a Fulbright
Scholar.
WHEREAS, the Fulbright Scholars program is the flagship international exchange
program sponsored by the United States Government and is designed to increase mutual
understanding between the people of the United States and other countries; and
WHEREAS, the Fulbright Scholars program identifies Americans who will spend
time abroad and contribute to a better understanding of the United States; and
WHEREAS, Evan Leonhard is an outstanding student who is a graduate of Jesuit
High School in New Orleans and current student at Louisiana State University; he has
distinguished himself academically as a Roger H. Ogden Honors College student majoring
in both philosophy and English; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Leonhard also possesses a particular interest in the study of
Victorian literature and aesthetics, and he serves as the co-editor of the Delta Journal; and
WHEREAS, Evan Leonhard is most deserving of the highest recognition for his
incredible academic achievements and for being selected to represent the United States
abroad as a Fulbright Scholar.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
commend Louisiana State University student Evan Leonhard on being named a Fulbright
Scholar and does hereby extend sincerest wishes that he continue to prosper as he brings
great pride to his school and to the state of Louisiana for his commitment to international
education and understanding.
