COMMENDATIONS: Commends John Craig Arceneaux, head coach of the Church Point
High School football team, on the occasion of his retirement
1 A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
2To commend John Craig Arceneaux, head coach of the Church Point High School football
3 team, on the occasion of his retirement.
4 WHEREAS, John Craig Arceneaux served as a coach at Church Point High School
5for twenty-three years and as head coach of the school's football program for sixteen years;
6and
7 WHEREAS, since taking over as head coach in 2007, Mr. Arceneaux led the Church
8Point High School football program to twelve winning seasons; more impressively, his
9teams held a combined record of fifty-six wins and only thirteen losses over the last six
10seasons; and
11 WHEREAS, Mr. Arceneaux holds claim to a number of coaching achievements from
12his head-coaching tenure at Church Point; he led the program to a thirty-one game regular
13season winning streak, and he guided his 2021 team to a final record of thirteen wins and
14only one loss, which came in the semifinal round of the state playoffs; and
15 WHEREAS, John Craig Arceneaux is most deserving of the highest recognition for
16dedicating more than two decades to leading young men as a coach at Church Point High
17School.
18 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
19commend John Craig Arceneaux on the occasion of his retirement as head coach of the
20Church Point High School football team and does hereby extend sincerest gratitude for his
21dedicated service to the Church Point community as a mentor and leader of young men.
