SPECIAL DAY/WEEK/MONTH: Recognizes May 17, 2023, as Dow Day at the state
capitol
1 A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
2To commend Dow on over one hundred twenty-five years of operation in 2023 and to
3 recognize May 17, 2023, as Dow Day at the state capitol.
4 WHEREAS, Dow has been in operation globally for over one hundred twenty-five
5years; and
6 WHEREAS, Dow has had a presence in Louisiana since 1956; and
7 WHEREAS, Dow operates four manufacturing sites in Louisiana, accounting for
817% of the company's global output; and
9 WHEREAS, Dow employs nearly 5,000 employees and contractors in the state; and
10 WHEREAS, Dow gives more than one $1 million annually to communities in
11Louisiana, pumps over $1 billion into the state's economy each year, and has more than three
12hundred volunteers involved in nonprofit organizations; and
13 WHEREAS, Dow is committed to delivering a sustainable future for the world
14through its materials science expertise and collaboration with its partners; and
15 WHEREAS, Dow is aspiring to become the most innovative, customer centric,
16inclusive, and sustainable materials science company in the world.
17 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
18commend Dow on over one hundred twenty-five years of operation and does hereby
19recognize Wednesday, May 17, 2023, as Dow Day at the state capitol.
