HLS 23RS-610 ENGROSSED 2023 Regular Session HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 100 BY REPRESENTATIVE FREIBERG LEGISLATIVE AUDITOR: Requests the legislative auditor to perform an audit or evaluation of assistance programs to identify areas for improved coordination of efforts 1 A RESOLUTION 2To urge and request the legislative auditor to conduct an appropriate audit or evaluation of 3 assistance programs in this state to evaluate participation, costs, and outcomes for 4 each program and identify areas for improved coordination, including the 5 Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Supplemental Nutrition 6 Assistance Program Employment and Training initiative (SNAP E&T), Workforce 7 Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families 8 program (TANF), Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP), unemployment insurance 9 program, and any other block grant and assistance programs the legislative auditor 10 deems necessary to include. 11 WHEREAS, there are several programs administered by state agencies to provide 12assistance to needy families; to reduce homelessness, unemployment, and hunger; to 13promote affordable housing; and to promote educational opportunities, job preparation, and 14employment; and 15 WHEREAS, recent audits of TANF and SNAP programs have indicated that there 16is a lack of coordination among, knowledge of, and information regarding outcomes for 17these programs; and 18 WHEREAS, improved collaboration and coordination among all of the programs will 19greatly increase the state's ability to impact intergenerational poverty, improve educational 20and employment opportunities; and reduce hunger; all to improve the economic and physical 21well-being of the citizens of Louisiana.
