COMMENDATIONS: Commends the coaches and players on the Cardinals American
Legion baseball team from Kenner, Louisiana, on their achievements

2To commend the coaches and players on the Cardinals American Legion baseball team from
3 Kenner, Louisiana, on their achievements.
4 WHEREAS, the Cardinals American Legion baseball team from Kenner, Louisiana,
5started in 2016, and holds a record of one hundred eighty wins and only forty-nine losses;
6and
7 WHEREAS, from 2016 until 2019, the team was known as the "Pedal Valves
8Cardinals", and from 2020 until 2022, they were known as the "Gibbs Construction
9Cardinals"; and
10 WHEREAS, the Cardinals coaching staff is made up entirely of Kenner residents,
11including Head Coach Danny Riehm, Associate Head Coach Oliver Lacoste, and Assistant
12Coach Kenny Goodlett, Sr.; additionally, Kenner resident Kirk Bullinger was on the
13coaching staff in 2019; and
14 WHEREAS, the Cardinals won the American Legion Louisiana state championship
15in 2016, 2017, and 2019, and represented the state in the American Legion regional
16tournaments in those years; and
17 WHEREAS, the 2019 Cardinals team won the Southeast Regional in Tampa, Florida,
18and advanced to the American Legion World Series; they played live on ESPNU and
19finished the tournament in third place; and
20 WHEREAS, the Cardinals players and coaching staff are most deserving of the
21highest recognition for representing Kenner and the state of Louisiana with pride and honor.

1 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
2Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the coaches and players on the Cardinals
3American Legion baseball team from Kenner, Louisiana, on their achievements and does
4hereby extend sincerest wishes that the team continue its incredible work and always strives
5for greatness.
