SPECIAL DAY/WEEK/MONTH: Recognizes May 18, 2023, as Community Provider
Association Day at the state capitol
1 A RESOLUTION
2To recognize Thursday, May 18, 2023, as Community Provider Association Day at the state
3 capitol.
4 WHEREAS, the Community Provider Association (CPA) is a statewide organization
5that represents disability service organizations in the state of Louisiana; and
6 WHEREAS, since 1985, the CPA has served the state of Louisiana; and
7 WHEREAS, the mission of the CPA is to secure necessary public funding and to
8pursue initiatives through advocacy, collaboration, and education; and
9 WHEREAS, the CPA assists thousands of Louisianians with disabilities so that they
10can live in their own communities; and
11 WHEREAS, moreover, the CPA provides a forum through which its members can
12influence state policies and regulations, obtain information necessary to remain competitive,
13participate in development opportunities, network with others in the field, and have access
14to problem-solving resources; and
15 WHEREAS, the CPA aims to network, educate, and provide resources to its
16members so that the state of Louisiana can provide better services to people with disabilities;
17and
18 WHEREAS, the purpose of the CPA is to promote optimal funding, program
19integrity, and public policy that enables its members to deliver quality services to people
20with disabilities in all community-based service models; and

1 WHEREAS, the CPA strives to encourage and promote the professional growth of
2community providers, including the promotion of the highest standards of quality and ethics;
3and
4 WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper for the House of Representatives of the
5Legislature of Louisiana to commend the CPA for its many years of service to the people of
6the state of Louisiana.
7 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
8Legislature of Louisiana does hereby recognize Thursday, May 18, 2023, as Community
9Provider Association Day at the state capitol.
