COMMENDATIONS: Commends Fletter Cox Taylor for her service to Red River Parish
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend Fletter Cox Taylor for her service to Red River Parish.
3 WHEREAS, Fletter Cox Taylor graduated as salutatorian of the Class of 1978 at
4Coushatta High School in Coushatta, Louisiana; she earned a bachelor of science degree in
5nursing from Northwestern State University in 1982 and a master's degree in industrial
6organizational psychology from Louisiana Tech University in 1998; she also completed
7Biblical studies graduate and doctoral degree programs at The Institute for Teaching God's
8Word in Rockdale, Texas; and
9 WHEREAS, Mrs. Taylor was named the LSU Medical Center at Shreveport
10POCU/PICU Nurse of the Year in 1986 and 1987; she served as director of the Louisiana
11Youth Outreach Coalition in Coushatta and was featured on Channel 12 KSLA's "Home
12Town Hero" segment in 1991; and
13 WHEREAS, Mrs. Taylor has served as a Registered Nurse in the state of Louisiana
14for nearly four decades; she currently serves as a Certified School Nurse (Type A) in the Red
15River Parish School System; and
16 WHEREAS, Mrs. Taylor's dedication to the Red River Parish community is
17inspiring; she was recognized as Red River Parish's A+PEL Volunteer of the Year and
18commended by Representative Joe Salter at the state capitol in 2003; she was honored by
19the Red River Parish School Board in 2009 and 2013 for her dedication and commitment to
20the schools, the children, and the community of Red River Parish; and

1 WHEREAS, Mrs. Taylor also served for sixteen years at the LSU Health Science
2Center Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and worked as a
3health instructor at Northwestern State University for four years; and
4 WHEREAS, Fletter Cox Taylor is a truly inspiring woman who is most deserving
5of the highest recognition for her commitment to serving others in Red River Parish and
6throughout Louisiana.
7 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
8Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Fletter Cox Taylor for her service to Red
9River Parish and does hereby extend sincerest wishes that she continue to prosper for many
10years to come.
