Gaines and expresses enduring gratitude for his outstanding contributions to St. Charles and St. John the Baptist Parishes and the state of Louisiana, particularly during his tenure as a distinguished member of the Louisiana House of Representatives 1 A RESOLUTION 2To commend the Honorable Randal L. Gaines and to express enduring gratitude for his 3 outstanding contributions to the parishes of St. Charles and St. John the Baptist and 4 the state of Louisiana, particularly during his tenure as a distinguished member of 5 the Louisiana House of Representatives. 6 WHEREAS, Randal L. Gaines is a notable public servant and United States Army 7veteran who has served with excellence for three terms as a state representative since taking 8office in 2012, during which time he has fully used every opportunity to serve the citizens 9of District No. 57 and the state in an honorable and dedicated manner; and 10 WHEREAS, Representative Gaines has been a proud member of the Acadiana 11Delegation, the Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus, and the Democratic Caucus; he also 12served honorably as whip for the Democratic Caucus; and 13 WHEREAS, Representative Gaines's diligent committee service includes one term 14as chair of the House Committee on Judiciary and one term as vice chair of the House 15Committee on Civil Law and Procedure; he also served as a member of the House 16Committee on the Administration of Criminal Justice, the House Committee on House and 17Governmental Affairs, the House Select Committee on Homeland Security, the Joint 18Committee on Homeland Security, and the Special Committee on Military and Veterans 19Affairs; and Page 1 of 2 HLS 23RS-149 ORIGINAL HR NO. 158 1 WHEREAS, during his time in the House of Representatives, Representative Gaines 2has worked on and supported many important pieces of legislation; and 3 WHEREAS, Randal L. Gaines will forever have a special place in the chronicles of 4the history of Louisiana, for he is one of Louisiana's most outstanding public servants; and 5 WHEREAS, as he prepares to embark on the next exciting and productive chapter 6of his life, Representative Gaines merits a sincere measure of commendation for his singular 7contributions and the exemplary strides he has taken as an exceptional member of the 8Louisiana House of Representatives. 9 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the 10Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Honorable Randal L. Gaines; does 11hereby extend honor and recognition to him for his outstanding contributions throughout his 12tenure as a distinguished member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, which has been 13marked by his uncompromising endeavor to improve the welfare of his constituents in the 14parishes of St. Charles and St. John the Baptist and the state of Louisiana; and does hereby 15pay tribute to him for the generous and effective way in which he has dedicated his 16intelligence and his energy to the service of his family, friends, community, and state. 17 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Louisiana House of Representatives does 18hereby express enduring gratitude to Representative Gaines for his service to the citizens of 19Louisiana, as evidenced by his superlative achievements as a member of this distinguished 20body, and does hereby extend to him the best wishes of all his colleagues for continued 21prosperity and success in his future endeavors.
