HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 159
BY REPRESENTATIVE SCHEXNAYDER
COMMENDATIONS:  Commends and expresses appreciation to the Honorable Kenny R.
Cox and expresses enduring gratitude for his outstanding contributions to DeSoto,
Natchitoches, and Red River Parishes and the state of Louisiana, particularly during
his tenure as a distinguished member of the Louisiana House of Representatives
1	A RESOLUTION
2To commend the Honorable Kenny R. Cox and to express enduring gratitude for his
3 outstanding contributions to the parishes of DeSoto, Natchitoches, and Red River
4 and the state of Louisiana, particularly during his tenure as a distinguished member
5 of the Louisiana House of Representatives.
6 WHEREAS, Kenny R. Cox is a notable public servant and United States Army
7veteran who has served with excellence for three terms as a state representative since taking
8office in 2012, during which time he has fully used every opportunity to serve the citizens
9of District No. 23 and the state in an honorable and dedicated manner; and
10 WHEREAS, Representative Cox has been a proud member of the Democratic
11Caucus, the Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus, the Louisiana Rural Caucus, and the North
12Louisiana Legislative Delegation; and
13 WHEREAS, Representative Cox's diligent committee service has included three
14terms each as a member of the House Committee on Commerce, the House Committee on
15Health and Welfare, and the House Committee on Labor and Industrial Relations; he also
16served as a member of the House Special Committee on Military and Veterans Affairs and
17the House Select Committee on Homeland Security; and
18 WHEREAS, during his time in the House of Representatives, Representative Cox
19has worked on and supported many important pieces of legislation; and

1 WHEREAS, Representative Cox will forever have a special place in the chronicles
2of the history of Louisiana, for he is one of Louisiana's most outstanding public servants; and
3 WHEREAS, as he prepares to embark on the next exciting and productive chapter
4of his life, Representative Cox merits a sincere measure of commendation for his singular
5contributions and the exemplary strides he has taken as an exceptional member of the
6Louisiana House of Representatives.
7 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
8Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Honorable Kenny R. Cox; does hereby
9extend honor and recognition to him for his outstanding contributions throughout his tenure
10as a distinguished member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, which has been
11marked by his uncompromising endeavor to improve the welfare of his constituents in the
12parishes of DeSoto, Natchitoches, and Red River and the state of Louisiana; and does hereby
13pay tribute to him for the generous and effective way in which he has dedicated his
14intelligence and his energy to the service of his family, friends, community, and state.
15 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Louisiana House of Representatives does
16hereby express enduring gratitude to Representative Kenny R. Cox for his service to the
17citizens of Louisiana, as evidenced by his superlative achievements as a member of this
18distinguished body, and does hereby extend to him the best wishes of all his colleagues for
19continued prosperity and success in his future endeavors.
