SPECIAL DAY/WEEK/MONTH: Designates May 17, 2023, as Bankers Day at the state
capitol
1 A RESOLUTION
2To designate Wednesday, May 17, 2023, as Bankers Day at the state capitol.
3 WHEREAS, since 1900, the Louisiana Bankers Association, or LBA, has diligently
4represented the interests of banks and thrifts operating in the state of Louisiana; and
5 WHEREAS, LBA is a member-driven organization that works to provide bankers
6with the tools to serve their customers and communities; and
7 WHEREAS, the LBA's current membership represents one hundred seventeen
8institutions, which include state and federal charters, small and large institutions, and locally
9based community banks; and
10 WHEREAS, LBA is guided by its board of directors, which includes Joseph F.
11Quinlan, III of First National Bankers Bankshares, Inc., chairman; Brian North of Fifth
12District Savings Bank, chairman-elect; Michael Vizard with Cross Keys Bank, treasurer;
13Brent Vidrine of Bank of Sunset and Trust Company, immediate past chairman; Kip
14Bertrand with Washington State Bank; Mark Marionneaux with Bank of Zachary; Darryl
15Ellerbee Jr., with Delta Bank; John Cole of Gibsland Bank and Trust Co.; Paige Oliver of
16Bank of Oak Ridge; Ronnie Falgoust with First American Bank; Jeff Ehlinger with
17BankPlus; Todd McDonald with Liberty Bank and Trust Company; Sam Wilkinson with
18First Federal Bank of Louisiana; Shively Verrette with Lakeside Bank; and Ginger Laurent,
19LBA chief executive officer; and
20 WHEREAS, special recognition is given to LBA chairman Joey Quinlan for his
21tireless efforts leading the LBA board of directors; and

1 WHEREAS, Louisiana's bankers are deeply committed to and involved in the
2communities they serve and are essential for the state's economic development; and
3 WHEREAS, Louisiana's bankers are devoted to helping customers achieve their
4goals; and
5 WHEREAS, on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, the LBA will host Bankers Day at the
6state capitol, and bankers from across the state will attend.
7 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
8Legislature of Louisiana does hereby designate Wednesday, May 17, 2023, as Bankers Day
9at the state capitol and does hereby recognize the extraordinary efforts and contributions of
10the state's bankers to the economy.
