Creates the La. Violent Crime Task Force to study and evaluate recent legislative reforms to the La.
criminal justice system and to report its findings to the legislature no later than Dec. 31, 2023.
Summary of Amendments Adopted by House
The Committee Amendments Proposed by House Committee on Administration of Criminal
Justice to the original bill:
1. Add a member of the House of Representatives to the task force, appointed by the
speaker from a list of names submitted by the clerks of Caddo Parish, East Baton Rouge
Parish, and Orleans Parish.
2. Add a member of the Senate to the task force, appointed by the president from a list of
names submitted by the clerks of Caddo Parish, East Baton Rouge Parish, and Orleans
Parish.
