COMMENDATIONS: Commends the Honorable Barry Ivey and expresses enduring
gratitude for his outstanding contributions to East Baton Rouge Parish and the state
of Louisiana, particularly during his tenure as a distinguished member of the
Louisiana House of Representatives
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend the Honorable Barry Ivey and to express enduring gratitude for his outstanding
3 contributions to East Baton Rouge Parish and the state of Louisiana, particularly
4 during his tenure as a distinguished member of the Louisiana House of
5 Representatives.
6 WHEREAS, Barry Ivey is a notable public servant who has served with excellence
7for three terms as a state representative since taking office in 2012, during which time he has
8fully used every opportunity to serve the citizens of District No. 65 and the state in an
9honorable and dedicated manner; and
10 WHEREAS, Representative Ivey has been a proud member of the Capital Region
11Legislative Delegation and the Louisiana Republican Legislative Delegation; and

1 WHEREAS, Representative Ivey's diligent committee service has included
2membership on the House Committee on House and Governmental Affairs, the House
3Committee on Retirement, the House Committee on Ways and Means, the House Committee
4on Education, the House Committee on Transportation, Highways and Public Works, the
5House Select Committee on Homeland Security, and the Joint Legislative Committee on
6Capital Outlay; and
7 WHEREAS, during his time in the House of Representatives, Representative Ivey
8has worked on and supported many important pieces of legislation; and
9 WHEREAS, Barry Ivey will forever have a special place in the chronicles of the
10history of Louisiana, for he is one of Louisiana's most outstanding public servants; and
11 WHEREAS, as he prepares to embark on the next exciting and productive chapter
12of his life, Representative Ivey merits a sincere measure of commendation for his singular
13contributions and the exemplary strides he has taken as an exceptional member of the
14Louisiana House of Representatives.
15 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
16Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Honorable Barry Ivey; does hereby
17extend honor and recognition to him for his outstanding contributions during his tenure as
18a distinguished member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, which has been marked
19by his uncompromising endeavor to improve the welfare of his constituents in East Baton
20Rouge Parish and the state of Louisiana; and does hereby pay tribute to him for the generous
21and effective way in which he has dedicated his intelligence and his energy to the service of
22his family, friends, community, and state.
23 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Louisiana House of Representatives does
24hereby express enduring gratitude to Representative Ivey for his service to the citizens of
25Louisiana, as evidenced by his superlative achievements as a member of this distinguished
26body, and does hereby extend to him the best wishes of all his colleagues for continued
27prosperity and success in his future endeavors.
