HIGHWAYS/EXPRESSWAYS: Expresses support for designating a Crawfish Capital
Expressway in the city of Breaux Bridge

2To express support for the city of Breaux Bridge and its proclamation to establish a
3 Crawfish Capital Expressway.
4 WHEREAS, crawfish are a vital part of Breaux Bridge's economy; and
5 WHEREAS, the Legislature of Louisiana named Breaux Bridge as the Crawfish
6Capital of the World in 1959; and
7 WHEREAS, Breaux Bridge's crawfish festival is known around the country and even
8the world; and
9 WHEREAS, many people from all over the state and the country visit Breaux Bridge
10each year for the Crawfish Festival; and
11 WHEREAS, residents of Breaux Bridge are proud of their designation as the
12Crawfish Capital; and
13 WHEREAS, the city of Breaux Bridge has issued a proclamation to establish a
14Crawfish Capital Expressway; and
15 WHEREAS, designating a roadway as the Crawfish Capital Expressway would be
16another source of pride for residents of the city of Breaux Bridge.
17 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
18Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express support for the city of Breaux Bridge upon its
19proclamation to designate a roadway as the Crawfish Capital Expressway.
