COMMENDATIONS: Commends Carry The Load on the occasion of the organization's
twelfth anniversary
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend Carry The Load on the occasion of the organization's twelfth anniversary.
3 WHEREAS, Carry The Load in a nonprofit organization with a mission to restore
4the true meaning of Memorial Day; the organization began on Memorial Day in 2011 with
5the first Dallas Memorial March at White Rock Lake in Dallas, Texas, where four hundred
6participants marched for twenty hours and eleven minutes and raised nearly $50,000 to fund
7healing services for the mind, body, and soul of our veterans; and
8 WHEREAS, Carry The Load has grown to encompass more than just military
9veterans and their families, and the organization has also expanded its activities to include
10holidays in addition to Memorial Day; and
11 WHEREAS, Carry The Load strives to bring all American citizens together to
12participate in honoring our nation's heroes on a daily basis; its goal is to raise awareness of
13those who make daily sacrifices to safeguard American freedoms by providing Americans
14with an active way to remember, honor, and celebrate these heroes; and
15 WHEREAS, Carry The Load also aims to inspire patriotism in our country's youth
16by educating them about the American Flag and the sacrifices made to honor it; and
17 WHEREAS, 2023 marks twelve years since the founding of Carry The Load by
18United States Navy SEAL veterans Clint Bruce and Stephen Holly; both the organization
19and its founders are most deserving of the highest recognition for their incredible work.
20 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
21Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Carry The Load on the occasion of the

1organization's twelfth anniversary and does hereby extend sincerest wishes that the
2organization continue to receive the support it needs to carry out its inspiring and patriotic
3mission.
