CONDOLENCES: Expresses condolences on the death of Corporal Scotty Canezaro
1 A RESOLUTION
2To express the condolences of the House of Representatives upon the death of Corporal
3 Scotty Canezaro.
4 WHEREAS, it is with immense sadness and profound regret that the House of
5Representatives has learned of the tragic and untimely passing, on March 26, 2023, of
6Corporal Scotty Canezaro of the Baton Rouge Police Department; and
7 WHEREAS, Corporal Canezaro was a sixteen-year veteran of the BRPD who was
8a licensed helicopter pilot and trained tactical flight officer; he was assigned to the BRPD
9Air Support Unit as a Robinson R-44 helicopter pilot at the time of his passing; and
10 WHEREAS, Corporal Canezaro was a dedicated husband and father who worked
11hard to provide for and protect his family; he had a passion for cooking, working out, and
12rescuing huskies; and
13 WHEREAS, Corporal Scotty Canezaro sacrificed his life protecting his community;
14he leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Chelsea Canezaro; son, Ethan Canezaro; mother,
15Toni Canezaro; sister, Angela Canezaro; nieces, Savannah Canezaro and Madison Morris;
16father-in-law, John Chenevert; mother-in-law, Tina Chenevert; sisters-in-law, Claire
17Chenevert and Caitlyn Roberts; brother-in-law, Grant Roberts; and a host of aunts, uncles,
18cousins, and friends; he will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on forever in the
19hearts and minds of all who knew and loved him.
20 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
21Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express heartfelt condolences on the death of Corporal

1Scotty Canezaro; does hereby recognize Corporal Canezaro's unrelenting dedication to the
2protection of his community; and does hereby extend sincerest wishes that his family,
3friends, colleagues, and loved ones find comfort in their shared memories of his life.
