HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 59

A RESOLUTION
To commend Nicholas Tarver on his selection as a 2023 Louisiana Public Broadcasting
Young Hero.
WHEREAS, for twenty-eight years, Louisiana Public Broadcasting's (LPB) Young
Heroes program has recognized state high school students who have excelled in academics,
given significantly of themselves through public service, overcome adversity, exhibited
extraordinary heroism, or displayed exceptional strength of character; and
WHEREAS, Nicholas Tarver is a junior at Florien High School in Many, Louisiana,
and is one of the six 2023 Louisiana Public Broadcasting Young Heroes; and
WHEREAS, Nicholas's volunteer efforts include serving as the president of Children
of the American Revolution (C.A.R.) for Louisiana, working with "Wreaths Across
America", and serving as chair of the National Board of the Tomb of the Unknown
American Revolutionary Soldier; he has also dealt with cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and vision
impairment since birth, but he does not allow those challenges to divert him from achieving
his goals; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Tarver is a truly inspiring young man who is most deserving of the
highest recognition for his astounding drive and accomplishments.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Nicholas Tarver on his selection as a 2023
Louisiana Public Broadcasting Young Hero and does hereby extend sincerest wishes that he
continue his truly inspiring work and always strive for greatness.
