COMMENDATIONS: Commends Vivienne Webb on her selection as a 2023 Louisiana
Public Broadcasting Young Hero
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend Vivienne Webb on her selection as a 2023 Louisiana Public Broadcasting
3 Young Hero.
4 WHEREAS, for the past twenty-eight years, Louisiana Public Broadcasting's (LPB)
5Young Heroes program has recognized state high school students who have excelled in
6academics, given significantly of themselves through public service, overcome adversity,
7exhibited extraordinary heroism, or displayed exceptional strength of character; and
8 WHEREAS, Vivienne Webb is a junior at Caddo Magnet High School in Shreveport,
9Louisiana, and is one of the six 2023 Louisiana Public Broadcasting Young Heroes; and
10 WHEREAS, Vivienne volunteers as a disability rights advocate with Louisiana
11Developmental Disability Council's Advocacy Network (LaCAN) and serves as a Be Strong
12representative for her region; she is also serving as a gubernatorially appointed member of
13the council; she visited the Louisiana capitol and advocated to help obtain $2 million in
14funding for the lowest-funded Human Service Districts; she also has autism, anxiety, and
15epilepsy; and
16 WHEREAS, Ms. Webb is a truly inspiring young woman who is most deserving of
17the highest recognition for her astounding drive and accomplishments.
18 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
19Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Vivienne Webb on her selection as a 2023
20Louisiana Public Broadcasting Young Hero and does hereby extend sincerest wishes that she
21continue her truly inspiring work and always strive for greatness.
