Prior law provided that the state appropriations for the M. J. Foster Promise Program may
not exceed $10,000,000 per year for students enrolled in public postsecondary education
institutions.
Prior law provided that the state appropriations may not exceed $500,000 for students
enrolled in proprietary schools.
New law provides that the state appropriations for the program may not exceed $10,500,000
per year for students enrolled in public postsecondary education institutions or proprietary
schools.
New law eliminates separate allocations between public and proprietary schools.
Effective June 6, 2023.
