ACT 330 (SB 184) 2023 Regular Session Peacock
Prior law provided that any loans made by a candidate to his own campaign may be repaid
from campaign funds received in connection with an election in which the candidate
qualified for a public office.
New law provides that notwithstanding any other provision of law any loans made by a
candidate to his own campaign may be repaid from any campaign contributions received.
Existing law allows only a candidate whose public service as an elected official has been
terminated for at least one year to repay a loan made to his campaign.
New law retains existing law.
Effective August 1, 2023.
