Proposed law prohibits any public postsecondary education institution from entering into any
partnership that promotes, markets or advertises sports wagering activity with any entity licensed by
the La. Gaming Control Board, the La. State Racing Commission, or the office of charitable gaming,
other than alumni networks with content solely focused on responsible gaming initiatives or problem
gambling awareness.
Proposed law requires that the provisions in proposed law not be construed to cause impairment of
any existing obligation, contract, or partnership in effect prior to proposed law becoming effective.
Effective upon signature of the governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
