CONTROL DANGER SUBSTANCE.  Adds certain substances to the Uniform Controlled
Dangerous Substance Law. (8/1/23)
1	AN ACT
2 To repeal Sections 2, 3, 4, 5, and 7 of Act No. 231 of the 2019 Regular Session of the
3 Legislature, relative to the Uniform Controlled Dangerous Substances Law; to add
4 certain substances to Schedule I of the Uniform Controlled Dangerous Substances
5 Law; and to provide for related matters.
6 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
7 Section 1.  Sections 2, 3, 4, 5, and 7 of Act. No. 231 of the 2019 Regular Session of
8 the Legislature are hereby repealed in their entirety.

Present law adds the substances mitragynine and 7-Hydroxy-mitragynine to the controlled
dangerous substances schedules of the Uniform Controlled Dangerous Substances Law
contingent upon the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) classifying those
substances under corresponding federal schedules.

Proposed law deletes present law except to provide that mitragynine and
7-Hydroxy-mitragynine are Schedule I controlled dangerous substances under the Uniform
Controlled Dangerous Substances Law and removes the condition of action by the DEA.
Effective August 1, 2023.
