Present law adds the substances mitragynine and 7-Hydroxy-mitragynine to the controlled dangerous
substances schedules of the Uniform Controlled Dangerous Substances Law contingent upon the
U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) classifying those substances under corresponding
federal schedules.
Proposed law deletes present law except to provide that mitragynine and 7-Hydroxy-mitragynine are
Schedule I controlled dangerous substances under the Uniform Controlled Dangerous Substances
Law and removes the condition of action by the DEA.
Effective August 1, 2023.
