Establishes the Task Force on Local Impacts of Carbon Capture and Sequestration to study the
benefits and revenue streams of carbon capture and sequestration projects and related issues. The
task force must hold its first meeting on or before August 15, 2023, and is to be composed of the
following members:
(1)One member appointed by the president of the Senate.
(2)Two members appointed by the chair of the Senate Committee on Natural Resources.
(3)One member appointed by the speaker of the House of Representatives.
(4)Two members appointed by the chair of the House Committee on Natural Resources and
Environment.
(5)The attorney general, or his designee.
(6)The director of the Louisiana Mineral Law Institute, or his designee.
Requires the task force to submit a final report on or before February 15, 2024.
