SENATE SUMMARY OF HOUSE AMENDMENTS

PROPERTY INSURANCE. Urges the commissioner of insurance to create the
Hurricane Mitigation Commission to study and report findings and recommendations
relative to the handling of property insurance claims in the wake of hurricanes and
the necessity of a catastrophe savings account.
SUMMARY OF HOUSE AMENDMENTS TO THE SENATE BILL
1. Requires the commission to consult with the La. Bankers Association in its
study of catastrophe savings accounts.
2. Makes technical changes.

Urges the commissioner of insurance to create the Hurricane Mitigation Commission to
study the handling of property insurance claims in the wake of hurricanes and the necessity
of a catastrophe savings account.
Requires the commission to submit a written report of its findings and recommendations to
the Senate and House Committees on Insurance no later than February 1, 2024.
