2023 Regular Session ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 175 BY SENATORS HEWITT AND BARROW A RESOLUTION To congratulate and commend Our Future Our Families Ministries upon the occasion of the grand opening of their Community Outreach Center & Ministry Services Complex. WHEREAS, Our Future Our Families Ministries is a nondenominational ministry in Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and WHEREAS, Our Future Our Families Ministries serves the community with a mission of addressing the needs of others through acts of kindness and service; and WHEREAS, Our Future Our Families Ministries has been proactive in its approach to community support since its inception in 2017; and WHEREAS, founders Reverend Chisolu P. Isiadinso, Reverend Sha'Myra Williams- Louis, and Pastor Montrell "Ruffy Jovan" Henderson prioritized the needs of children as an area of focus; and WHEREAS, Our Future Our Families Ministries fulfills its vision of serving as an advocate for strengthening the character, values, and life skills of students by providing the youth of North Baton Rouge with structured programs that foster personal development within a safe, loving, and supportive environment; and WHEREAS, student participation in these programs has flourished as the result of input from East Baton Rouge Parish School System Superintendent Dr. Sito J. Narcisse and his chief of staff, Caron Smith; and WHEREAS, the Our Future Our Families organization now has a waiting list of over two thousand families seeking its services; and WHEREAS, Our Future Our Families Ministries has grown from its humble beginnings in a small building off Government Street to a twenty thousand square foot facility on Plank Road; and Page 1 of 2 SR NO. 175 ENROLLED WHEREAS, after a delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic, construction of a new facility began after partnering with local business leaders Parker Lombard of Home Depot stores, Johnny Fife of Arkel Construction, Sam Smith Jr., of Smith Tank & Steel, Mike Wampold of Wampold Companies; and WHEREAS, Our Future Our Families Ministries was blessed with financial assistance from Mick Dubuis of PatchMaster Drywall Repair, Brenda Cedars of Douglas Flooring, and ABK Constructors, whose generous acts were vital for the completion of the project; and WHEREAS, after years of prayer and hard work, Our Future Our Families proudly opened the doors to its new Community Outreach Center & Ministry Services Complex on Sunday, May 21, 2023, and is poised to continue its role of service to all who enter. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby congratulate and commend Our Future Our Families Ministries upon the occasion of the grand opening of their Community Outreach Center & Ministry Services Complex.
