2023 Regular Session ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 201 BY SENATORS FOIL AND PEACOCK A RESOLUTION To recognize Thursday, April 20, 2023, as Junior League Day at the state capitol. WHEREAS, the Junior League is an organization of women committed to promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the action and leadership of its trained volunteers; and WHEREAS, the Junior League has a vision to encourage women to be catalysts for lasting community change in the areas of health, education, and cultural development; and WHEREAS, the nine Louisiana leagues and more than seven thousand three hundred Junior League members continue to impact the lives of residents across Louisiana through the contributions made by the league's trained volunteers; and WHEREAS, Junior League chapters across the state have made significant financial investments through their community assistance funds, which grant money to nonprofit agencies and community projects that enhance quality of life and contribute to civic vitality; and WHEREAS, the Louisiana Junior League chapters are members of the Association of Junior League International, Inc., a network of more than one hundred twenty-five thousand members in over two hundred ninety-five communities in four countries: the United States of America, Canada, Mexico, and the United Kingdom. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby recognize Thursday, April 20, 2023, as Junior League Day at the state capitol. PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE Page 1 of 1
