Creates the Protective Order Procedure and Records Task Force to study the best methods
to ensure protective order records are kept properly and efficiently, and requests the task
force to propose recommendations, together with specific proposals for legislation, if the task
force deems it necessary or appropriate.
Provides that the task force consist of the following members:
(1)The president of the La. Sheriffs' Association, or his designee, who will serve as
chair.
(2)The director of the La. Protective Order Registry, or her designee.
(3)A designee from the La. Supreme Court, appointed by the chief justice.
(4)The president of the La. Clerks of Court Association, or his designee.
(5)A designee from the La. District Attorneys Association, designated by the executive
director.
Provides relative to meetings of the task force, quorum, and voting.
Provides that the task force may make a written report of its findings and recommendations
by March 1, 2024.
