SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 60

A RESOLUTION
To express sincere and heartfelt condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
to the family of Rhyann Danielle Green-Davis upon the occasion of her passing.
WHEREAS, Rhyann was born on June 6, 2005 in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to Danita
Ann Green and Robert Davis Jr.; and
WHEREAS, a lifelong resident of Lake Charles, Rhyann was a member of the
Messiah Missionary Baptist Church and attended Oak Park Elementary School, Ray D. Molo
Middle School, and most recently, Washington Marion Magnet High School; and
WHEREAS, Rhyann was an honor student and during high school was involved in
Student Council, Beta Club, Explorers Club, and Honor Society, and was also on the dance
line with the Dancing Dolls; and
WHEREAS, Rhyann was elected the school's 2022 Homecoming Queen and was to
graduate with honors in May and planned to attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette;
and
WHEREAS, On April 22, 2023, at the young age of seventeen, Rhyann's courageous
battle with leukemia ended and she gained her wings; and
WHEREAS, Rhyann leaves to cherish her loving memories her mother, Danita Ann
Green; father, Robert Davis Jr.; sister, Destin King; bothers Robert Davis III and Kashton;
grandmothers Theresa Green and Darvill Davis; grandfather Robert Davis; and a host of
aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby express sincere and heartfelt condolences to the family of Rhyann Danielle
Green-Davis upon the occasion of her passing.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
family of Rhyann Danielle Green-Davis.
