2023 Regular Session ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 72 BY SENATOR FOIL A RESOLUTION To designate Thursday, May 18, 2023, as Community Provider Association Day at the Louisiana State Capitol. WHEREAS, the Community Provider Association (CPA) is Louisiana's leading trade organization and unified advocacy voice for disability service organizations, including home- and community-based service providers, intermediate care facilities (ICFs), and support coordination providers; and WHEREAS, CPA's forty-two member organizations serve thousands of individuals with disabilities and employ thousands of dedicated staff in every region of our state; and WHEREAS, the member organizations provide a wide range of services that are referred to as "long-term supports and services"; and WHEREAS, long-term supports and services include assistance with the activities of daily living, such as getting dressed, taking medications, preparing meals, and managing money; and WHEREAS, long-term supports and services are critical for individuals with disabilities to reach their maximum potential in terms of health, education, employment, and overall quality of life; and WHEREAS, the CPA is committed to moving Louisiana's disability services system forward by building a strong professional workforce and encouraging the highest standards of quality and ethics for disability service organizations; and WHEREAS, with the number and needs of individuals with developmental and adult-onset disabilities continuing to grow, disability service providers will play an ever increasingly significant role in improving the quality of life for many Louisiana citizens in the future. Page 1 of 2 SR NO. 72 ENROLLED THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana hereby designates Thursday, May 18, 2023, as Community Provider Association Day at the Louisiana State Capitol.
