SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 79

COMMENDATIONS. Commends John W. "Jay" Robichaux upon his retirement from the
St. Charles Parish School Board.
1 A RESOLUTION
2 To commend, recognize, and congratulate John W. "Jay" Robichaux upon his retirement
3 from the St. Charles Parish School Board.
4 WHEREAS, John W. "Jay" Robichaux was born and raised in Norco, Louisiana; and
5 WHEREAS, Mr. Robichaux graduated from Destrehan High School in 1986 and
6 went on to earn a bachelor's degree from Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana;
7 and
8 WHEREAS, Mr. Robichaux is married to Denise Darce Robichaux and has three
9 children; and
10 WHEREAS, Mr. Robichaux has worked in the insurance industry for more than
11 twenty years and has been a member of a multitude of community and professional
12 organizations, including the National School Boards Association, Louisiana School Board
13 Association, Norco Economic Development Fund, Norco Community Advisory Panel, River
14 Parishes Community Development Corporation, Norco Civic Association, and Our Lady of
15 Perpetual Help Catholic Church; and
16 WHEREAS, in 2018 Mr. Robichaux was elected president of the National Federation
17 of Urban and Suburban School Districts' Board of Directors; and
18 WHEREAS, Mr. Robichaux is currently the Executive Director of the River Parishes

1 Tourist Commission; and
2 WHEREAS, Mr. Robichaux was elected to the St. Charles Parish School Board in
3 2002, began serving in 2003, and has served diligently for twenty years.
4 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
5 congratulate and recognize John W. "Jay" Robichaux on his retirement from the St. Charles
6 Parish School Board afer twenty years of service.
7 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
8 John W. "Jay" Robichaux in Norco, Louisiana.
