Abstract:  Increases the number of nominations made by the Lafourche Parish government and the
number of appointments made by the governor from that list.
Present law establishes the North Lafourche Conservation, Levee and Drainage District and provides
for the appointment of a board of commissioners based on nominations made by 
certain state legislators and the governing authorities of Lafourche Parish, Thibodaux, and Lockport.
Proposed law retains present law.
Present law provides for the appointment of one commissioner from a list of three nominees
submitted by the governing authority of Lafourche Parish.
Proposed law increases the number of nominees that must be submitted by the Lafourche Parish
government from three to five and increases the governor's appointments from Lafourche Parish
nominees from one to two commissioners.
