ACT 18 (HB 151) 2024 Regular Session Orgeron
Existing law establishes the North Lafourche Conservation, Levee and Drainage District and
provide for the appointment of a board of commissioners based on nominations made by
certain state legislators and the governing authorities of Lafourche Parish, Thibodaux, and
Lockport.
Prior law provided for the appointment of one commissioner from a list of three nominees
submitted by the governing authority of Lafourche Parish.
New law increases the number of nominees that must be submitted by the Lafourche Parish
government from three to five and increases the governor's appointments from Lafourche
Parish nominees from one to two commissioners.
Effective August 1, 2024.
