Abstract: Provides relative to conditions for certification as a librarian.
Present law creates the State Bd. of Library Examiners. Provides for the composition of the board
and terms of members. Authorizes members of the board to prescribe examinations, qualifications,
conditions, and requirements for those seeking certificates or permits to practice the profession of
librarian.
Proposed law retains present law and authorizes the board to require applicants to possess a graduate
degree. Provides that the board may not require applicants to possess a graduate degree in a
particular field of study.
